It’s the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival this week or VAMFF. I have been invited to attend a variety of the Runway events and I have come away inspired to add some sparkle to my wardrobe.
Mimco’s event, Memoirs of a Fictionatrix at the Docklands Film Studio’s, kicked off a great night where beading and jeweled fabrics ruled the runways. Their oversized beaded clutch, available in deep red, forest green and champagne, sparkled as the hot pant clad models sauntered around the circular runway.
At Runway 2, later that night, Megan Park, Mariana Hardwick and Trelise Cooper all showed beautifully beaded tops and skirts or jewels and sequins appliqued to a coat lapel or jacket tail.
This season these embellishments are going from night to day, seen on tweed and wool they are a stunning way to add some shimmer to the darker months ahead.
